Franchisee Background: Sales & Marketing

Our York franchisee has particular expertise is within sales and marketing; from establishing the right frameworks, to delivering outstanding results at the top and bottom line. Having run multi-discipline sales teams of up to 300 people, as well as teams of less than 10 in SMEs, his understanding of what needs doing, how and by whom, is second to none. He has helped turn around a number of companies’ sales strategies by ensuring everyone is focussed on doing the right things – often easier said than done. His experience crosses a number of sectors; from British Steel, to Diageo, Nestle and Simpson Group, the printed point-of-sale specialist. Whilst one size does not fit all, there are certain disciplines which just work, irrespective of sector. His real passion is helping businesses get more focussed and aligned on what’s important to them and their customers, and his role with The Alternative Board allows him to do exactly that.

Franchisee Background: Corporate Background

This franchisee has previously worked at director level for two of the UK's largest FMCG Plc’s; he has worked in the Public and Private sectors and has been instrumental in establishing various small venture backed businesses. He specialises in senior appointments and complex consulting projects. His early career started as an engineer, completing a traditional time-served apprenticeship. He then moved into the food industry in a role working for a joint venture between Hilsdown Holdings and the US based King & Prince Seafoods. After a number of years working through the management ranks, on the operational side of food manufacturing and supply chain, he took an opportunity to move into a client facing role where his commercial skills and abilities were put to good use and he delivered exceptional business growth. Kenton has a passion for business and commerce; he works closely with the Institute of Directors, helping regional business development as an IoD Committee member, and believes that TAB Membership offers an unrivalled chance to help businesses release their true potential.

Franchisee Background: Strategic Planning

In addition to facilitating monthly boards, this TAB-Certified Facilitator and coach is co-owner and chairman of a firm specialising in working with medium-sized public and private organisations to develop the culture and tools for systematic process improvement and optimisation.

He has nearly 25 years of experience in both the public and private sector of the water utility industry. Specifically, he has spent the last 14 years analysing existing organisations, then developing and implementing strategic plans designed to increase the value and effectiveness of the organisation from both a stakeholder’s and customer’s perspective. His expertise also includes goal attainment, resource need identification & acquisition and company culture creation & transition.

The TAB opportunity was right for him because he was able to control his work/life balance, while gaining the effective processes, business resources and sales and marketing support unique to The Alternative Board®.

Franchisee Background: Finance

Our franchisee in Central Manchester is a qualified accountant and trained with a major PLC before moving into the SME environment. He has held CFO and CEO roles with private and public companies including leading the flotation of two companies on the AIM market. Additionally, he has been the owner of a number of small businesses which has given him a sound understanding of the problems faced by entrepreneurs. He is highly experienced in helping businesses identify their strengths and develop opportunities, and has helped many business people who have been facing key strategic issues. As an accountant, he has a natural understanding of the financial aspects of an organisation, but his time as a CEO and business owner allows him to see the “bigger picture”.

He came to TAB because it provided him with an outlet to utilise his focused expertise to strengthen community businesses, while also providing the training, support and business tools & resources to be his own boss.
