I have been an Accountant since 1999. My career has seen me go from audit and accounts preparation in Oxfordshire, to starting my own financial consultancy firm with my wife in the Canadian Rockies. I discovered my flair for hospitality at one of my consulting clients and happily joined their award-winning restaurant as manager.
After a well-earned career break spent sailing for 18 months with my wife and young son – from Turkey across the Atlantic to the Caribbean – we settled in the British Virgin Islands where I helped to start-up and manage another high-end restaurant while my wife, Milli, headed up Finance on Necker Island for Sir Richard Branson.
In 2016 I opened a restaurant on Tortola with my business partners. Unfortunately, the restaurant fell victim to Hurricane Irma in late 2017. Milli and I decided to return to England to be closer to our son who started boarding at Harrow School around the same time.
The previous 20 years have given me a strong appreciation of business from the perspective of an accountant, an operator, an employer and an entrepreneur. I’ve been exposed to a number of industries, regions, and all walks of life. I understand the daily grind but also the importance of work-life balance; how to make a business the vehicle to experience the really important things.
Through TAB I am able to offer others the benefit of my international experiences; to help them navigate their personal/business journeys and make a real difference in their lives. It is the most rewarding process.
