The Benefits of Business Coaching with TAB

There are many consultancy and coaching services available for small business owners across the UK, so why TAB?

TAB's Coaching works hand-in-hand with peer advisory board meetings.

Knowing what you want out of life is only half the battle. The other half is a real opportunity to keep you focused, accountable and on track to achieve it. And that is where our valuable executive coaching and strategic process comes in.

At TAB, we understand that your business is unique. That is why we provide a free one-on-one management and coaching program in your membership. TAB Coaching and business development strategies provides a trusted advisor you can count on to give you assistance with increasing business performance, administration, education, getting working through business opportunities and challenges, and achieve great financial success over many years. Your membership will start with an initial business coaching session where you and your business coach will identify those areas of your business that are well in need of attention and focus. During this time, you will also determine the key business opportunity or challenge you will take to your first business advisors board meeting.

Going forward, your executive coaching sessions will focus on your progress toward achieving those action items that you, your business coach, and your TAB board have determined are the key steps toward achieving your overall strategic vision. It is a monthly “check in” session where you are able to meet with your coach on a one-on-one basis to state any other issues that may have come up.

TAB will make you focused with more balance – and what feels like more time in your schedule – to sit back, be content, and soak up the rewards of success. The impact of your ongoing executive coaching sessions is the freedom to truly live the best personal and professional life you desire.

With TAB, you get several business coaches in one membership.

Our peer advisory board meetings put the power of collective wisdom, accountability, drive, creativity, and clarity of advice in your hands. Each month, you get to discuss your business opportunities and challenges with business owners just like you. This way you get the collective wisdom of several experienced entrepreneurs to help you grow your business.

So, how does a typical TAB Board meeting work?

Step 1 – One at a time, each member of the board shares a particular issue or situation they are facing in their business. The other board members then ask questions to clarify and then offers salient and practical advice on how they would handle the issue wearing your shoes.

Step 2 – Each board member list the goals we have for the next 30 days, and hold each other accountable to them, questioning why we have not met the goal and determining what kinds of service or advice the board can provide.

Step 3 – In between the board meetings, each member meets with their TAB facilitator for their one-to-one sessions to keep focus on the actions set out in the board meetings.

“Being a member of a TAB Board has really helped me to focus on moving my business forward. We now have clear goals and the learning from the support materials and board challenge has been invaluable. [I have a] fantastic mentor who listens and truly understands my business. The advice and motivation he has provided has been truly inspirational. TAB is great value for money and I would recommend it to any business.” Melissa Thompson, TAB Member, Safer Food Scores Limited.

Plan, Grow and Support your Business

In your executive coaching sessions, your local TAB (UK) Facilitator will help you determine how to plan, grow and support your business through training, feedback, and achievement. They will concentrate on everything from improving your cash flow to sorting out your HR. This style of coaching is different to a business consultant or a financial advisor.   We will also support you, the business owner, by facilitating your personal development, and the vision of how your business can help you lead a more fulfilling life.

Having worked with thousands of business owners, we have found that having an experienced mentor has been the most valuable resource when it came to achieving bottom line success. A coach can help directors and leaders to get the personalised guidance they need to make the difficult choices necessary to create a successful company.

“My TAB facilitator and coach, really holds me to account for delivering my business plan throughout the year and challenges my thinking across a wide range of business activities. I have learnt a lot, in fact more than I thought possible, and would recommend TAB to any business owner that has become a bit complacent and inward looking and wants to be challenged in an honest and caring way.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I Need Business Coaching?

While each business is on a unique journey, there are some common problems that many people face on the road to business success. A coach will utilise their own years of experience in business to help target these issues and get businesses’ past them. A coaching program can help you identify the areas where you need to make changes to expand your business and to stay ahead of the competition. Find out more about what a business coach does and the benefits coaching can bring to your business.

Plus, we meet many business owners who have lost the passion they once had for their business. But business support does help people fall back in love with business.

What Is The Difference Between a Business Coach and Mentor?

The coaching process is based on training, feedback, and achievement. It can be used to meet a focused business need. Business mentoring tends to be about personal development, although the skills learned may have a positive impact on professional circumstances as well.

At TAB, we can do both.

How Do I Find the Right Executive Coach to Hire?

Often the qualities that people value in a small business coach include insight, life coaching skills, character and areas of expertise, experience and trust. It is important that you find the right business coach for you. It might be helpful for you to read our white paper on hiring a coach. However, when you chat with potential coaches you could ask them questions like:

– What are the biggest challenges you’ve helped client solve?
– What do you do best? What don’t you do so well?
– Where have you failed and how did you handle it?

How do I find my local TAB Coach?

It’s easy to find your local TAB coach, just visit our local coaches page, enter your postcode and get in touch with them. They’ll be happy to answer any more specific questions about TAB and how we can help your business.

How Often Do I Meet with my TAB Coach?

Once a month.

What Happens During the Monthly Coaching Call?

Your monthly coaching call, which can be online coaching, with your TAB Business Facilitator focuses on commitments you made at the last board meeting, a 90-day goal that you set and commit to with your coach and building the strategic foundations of your business using TAB’s Business Builder’s Toolkit. They are designed to provide ongoing support, where you can ask for further guidance and resources to achieve your goals and objectives. The call will adjust to your pressing needs, issues or challenges that you want to discuss with your coach.

What Does a Business Coach Do?

At the top-level, a coach provides business owners with a fresh perspective towards the challenges and opportunities they face in their business. They provide real solution and help to develop realistic business plans. Most often, this is delivered through one-to-one coaching sessions.
At TAB, we combine the power of coaching with our peer advisory boards where you also get invaluable business advice from other business owners like you.

Why is Business Coaching Important?

Being a business owner can be very lonely. An experienced mentor from outside the business can be the most valuable resource available. A coach helps business leaders in making sometimes the most difficult decisions in order to grow a hugely successful business. It offers personalised impartial advice for every business challenge and opportunity.

What is the Difference Between a Coach and a Mentor?

There is a small difference between a coach and mentor. A coach tends to help owners determine how to grow their business through training and feedback. Whereas a mentor focusses more on the business owner as a person – their life and personal goals. At TAB, mentoring is where we start. We look at what you, the business owner, wants out of life and then coach you to make sure you achieve that personal vision of success.

How Much Does TAB Membership Cost?

The specifics of your membership can be discussed with your local TAB coach – find them on our local coaches page or get in touch through our membership form.

Who Makes The Best Small Business Coaches?

In our experience, we’ve found that the best business mentors are often those who have owned a business themselves. This is because regardless of size, industry or value, 70% of businesses face the same challenges. Experienced business owners with any degree of success, have already overcome the bulk of the challenges entrepreneurs face everyday. This is why the TAB system is so successful – we facilitate peer advisory groups made up of other business owners and entrepreneurs, and all of our facilitators have owned their own business or held a senior business leadership role.
